Pinecil case

credits and licences

The case is other people's work

Nothing about the printed case was designed here. The shell, the trays, the latches, the seals and the stand are published designs by other people, used under Creative Commons terms that require attribution, forbid commercial use, and oblige anything derived from them to carry the same licence.

Rugged multipart Pinecil / TS100 / TS80 case, V2

by PjotrStrog

The shell, the lids, the trays, the latch, the seals and the stand stems. This is the case. Everything on this site is built on it.

Pinecil case with integrated power pack

by kriscovery

An independent design built around a power bank, with its own reel and stand. Not a remix of the same shell, so its parts are not interchangeable with the others.

Model, syringe flux

by Atiesh

A reference model, not a printable part. Its own notes say it is for modelling purposes only. It stands in for the flux syringe that lives in the upper tray, scaled to the 5 cc the tray cradle actually takes.

What the licences require

CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 covers the three case designs: attribution, non commercial use only, and derivatives must be shared under the same licence. CC BY-NC 4.0 covers the flux syringe: attribution and non commercial use, with no share alike clause.

In practice that means you may print these for yourself and modify them freely, you may not sell them or prints of them, and anything you publish that is derived from the case carries CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 forward along with this credit chain.

Termiman and PjotrStrog turn up in all three lineages, so they are the names to credit first if you are shortening this.

What is ours

The work added on top of those models, and the only part of this project we can speak for:

  • The Blender assembly: every part placed, with eight keyframed configurations over one set of geometry.
  • The build and audit scripts, including the interference audit that runs across all eight configurations.
  • The lid electronics: display carrier, board retention, control zone, and the instrument panel work in progress.
  • The fitment analysis, the measured clearances quoted throughout this site, and the render pipeline that produced its images.
